Description: Due to the dedicated volunteers and the nature of the sport, children are able to develop their skills through self-discipline and performance measures. Again, dating back to the start in the 30’s, it was common to see some duels between the top CYO and AAU athletes in the old Madison Square Garden. Today, the program has grown both in quantity and quality. It is now being offered in 6 counties and ends at Icahn Stadium with the Archdiocese Championships. Over 30 teams and 500 aspiring track athletes attended the championships at Icahn Stadium. Overall, the program is serving 1400 athletes in all counties. In addition, we have expanded to include indoor track during the winter months in the Bronx and Westchester. Whether part of a team, an unattached runner or the CYO Club (view Club page here) this program offers something for everyone. Everyone is welcome.
